WHO MUST COMPLY

## 50 people or more? You need a channel.

The EU Whistleblowing Directive requires safe, confidential reporting channels so that misconduct can be reported without fear of retaliation. It applies to a broad range of organisations, and national laws in every member state enforce it.

Private sector

### 50+ employees

Every company with 50 or more workers. Since December 2023 that includes companies with 50 to 249, who may share resources to handle reports.

Public sector

### Public bodies

Government bodies and the entities they own. Member states may exempt municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants or fewer than 50 workers.

Regulated sectors

### Any size

Financial services, anti-money laundering and other high-risk areas must comply regardless of headcount. Smaller SMEs are otherwise generally exempt.

WHAT THE LAW ASKS · WHAT WBLOW DOES

## Every requirement, handled for you.

The law asks**A secure, confidential channel**

The law asks**Acknowledgement within 7 days**
Every case starts its 7-day clock on arrival, and your handler sees exactly what's due.

The law asks**Feedback within 3 months**
Reminders arrive well before the deadline, so nothing slips past it.

The law asks**An impartial person or team**
Choose who handles which cases. Nobody else sees them, including the people named.

The law asks**Records, and no retaliation**
An audit trail for every case, and a reporter identity that stays sealed unless they choose otherwise.

THE EASIEST TO ROLL OUT

## Three steps. No IT project.

FAQ

## Good questions, short answers.

Who needs a whistleblowing channel under the EU Directive?Private companies with 50 or more workers, public bodies, and organisations in areas such as financial services and anti-money laundering regardless of their size. Member states may exempt municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants or fewer than 50 workers. Each country's own law sets the details.

What deadlines does the Directive set?A report must be acknowledged within 7 days of receipt, and the reporter must get feedback within a reasonable time of no more than 3 months from that acknowledgement. WBlow runs both clocks for every case and reminds the case handler before either one is due.

Can reports be anonymous?Yes. Reporters can stay anonymous and still follow their case and answer questions with a private case code, without creating an account. Whether anonymous reports must be followed up depends on national law; WBlow supports them either way.

How long does it take to set up WBlow? Most organisations are live the same day. Sign up, choose who handles cases and share your reporting link or QR code on your intranet, in your handbook or on a poster. There is nothing to install and no integration project.

Do companies with 50 to 249 employees have to comply?Yes. Since 17 December 2023, private companies with 50 to 249 workers must also have an internal reporting channel. The Directive lets them share resources for receiving and investigating reports.

Does WBlow work in every EU country?WBlow is built around the Directive, which every member state has written into its own law, such as the HinSchG in Germany or Ley 2/2023 in Spain. National laws differ on details like anonymous reports and record keeping, and we help you set WBlow up for the countries you operate in.
